Description

Palm Beach, Florida based family (divorced couple with two households) have two children ages 5 and 8 and are in need of a wonderful, long-term, live-out Family Assistant (FA) to start ASAP. The FA will be working from two different households every week with the same duties. Candidates must have at least 3+years of professional childcare experience with a clean driving record as driving is an important part of this position.

The FA’s work schedule is full-time Monday-Friday with occasional weekends if the couple is entertaining. Hours are M-F 11:30am-7:30pm. Flexibility to stay later or come in earlier when needed is essential.

The ideal candidate is well organized, smart and a great communicator. We are looking for FA’s who have a minimum of 1+ years of professional experience as a personal assistant, a strong work ethic, long-term tenure with previous families/employers and a positive attitude. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this position for many years.

Ideal FA qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (ideal but not required)
  • Previous executive or personal assistant experience is a plus (not required)
  • Family office experience is a plus (not required)
  • Computer savvy and experience with researching and purchasing
  • Superb calendar, travel, and administrative management skills

Important FA qualifications:

  • Must love children and have experience
  • Experience with juggling and fulfilling a dynamic workload with lots of moving parts
  • When the workload is lighter, adept at finding ways to add value
  • Working calmly but efficiently under pressure
  • Eager to learn and grow, often on the fly and on-the-job
  • Must always act with discretion, tact, composure, and in ways that maintain/enhance the family’s reputations and relationships
  • CPR Certification or willingness to become certified.
  • Available for overnight care of the children and dog when the couple travels

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Homework/Tutoring children
  • Running errands for family
  • Driving children to school and activities
  • Driving family members on occasion
  • Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
  • Assist the couple as needed
  • Light housekeeping (putting away dishes from dishwasher etc.)
  • Cooking for family is ideal but must be able to cook for children
  • Overnight care for the children when the parent’s are traveling

One of the most important qualities in the FA is that they have a great attitude with a strong work ethic and not have to be told what to do. Part of the job description is being proactive and anticipating the needs of the family over time. The FA needs to be able to respond professionally to both positive and potentially negative feedback while keeping open and honest communication.
