Description

Austin based C-executive Principal is in search for a long-term private Chef to start ASAP.

The schedule will be Monday-Thursday and Saturday 2-10pm with Friday and Sunday off. Flexibility is essential as there may be times when the Chef will be asked to work outside of the regular schedule with advanced notice. The majority of the cooking will be for two people but occasionally it will be for a small group of people when the Principal is hosting a dinner. During the summer months the Principal will be in France, so the Chef will have up to 3-4 months with very limited or no work but will still remain on salary.

We are looking for a Chef who has a sharp mind with the utmost attention to detail and can adhere to the Principal’s lifestyle, tastes and preferences. Previous private chef experience is not necessary but we are looking for a formally trained chef who has worked in the fine dining restaurant industry for a minimum of 5+ years with excellent references.

Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Culinary experience required, including preparation and presentation of diverse foods and styles.
  • Culinary degree or educational track highly desired.
  • Exceptional knowledge of household table etiquette, service, and entertaining protocol.
  • Gourmet cooking
  • Provide regular meal prep and cleanup
  • Knowledge of where to source high quality foods
  • Shopping for all food/cooking related items
  • Work as a team player with the House Manager
  • Inventory of kitchen (ingredients, appliances etc.)

Ideal candidates will be local to Austin and quick to learn the Principal’s likes and dislikes over time. An important quality, in addition to being a great chef, is someone who the Principal can trust and depend on long-term with a congenial personality. The Chef should have great communication and time management skills and be passionate about creating delicious healthy and exciting meals for the Principal to enjoy.
