Description
A private household in Seattle is seeking an accomplished Tutor/Nanny to provide high-level educational and childcare support for four children. This multifaceted position will primarily focus on planning and delivering homeschool instruction for the eldest child, while also providing thoughtful, age-appropriate learning support and care for the younger children.
Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver homeschool instruction for the eldest child.
• Create age-appropriate learning activities for younger children.
• Assist with childcare for infants, toddlers, and school-age children as needed.
• Support the children’s learning during family travel by traveling with the family as needed or, depending on the family’s arrangement, preparing learning materials and providing remote educational support.
• Work collaboratively within a busy household and adapt to changing family needs.
Qualifications / Experience
• Strong educational background and substantial experience with school-age children.
• Former classroom educator with a master’s degree in teaching preferred; substantial equivalent teaching or educational experience considered.
• Comfortable caring for infants through school-age children.
• Energetic, collaborative, communicative, flexible, and able to exercise sound judgment.
• Comfortable sharing the home with a large, well-trained German shepherd; dog-care responsibility is not included.
• Able to commit for one year, with possible extension.
Travel Requirements
The family may travel domestically and internationally for up to approximately ten weeks annually. The candidate may travel as needed or support the children’s learning through prepared and remote materials, depending on the family’s arrangement.
