Server/Sous Chef

Deb’s Domestic Agency is seeking an experienced Server/Sous Chef for a private household in Austin, TX. This position blends polished table service with hands-on culinary support in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive, polished service for meals and refreshments in accordance with the household’s established preferences.
• Assist with menu planning, ingredient sourcing, mise en place, and preparation of well-executed meals.
• Prepare, finish, plate, and serve food with a consistent focus on quality, timing, and presentation.
• Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, food-storage practices, and culinary inventory.
• Support both day-to-day dining and more formal service as requested by the household.
• Maintain service supplies, tableware, glassware, and dining areas to a high standard of readiness.
• Use sound food-safety, sanitation, and confidentiality practices throughout service and culinary work.
• Communicate professionally and coordinate service and culinary priorities with appropriate household personnel when applicable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in private household service, luxury hospitality, culinary service, or a closely related professional setting.
• Strong foundational cooking skills, knife skills, menu-preparation ability, and familiarity with kitchen organization.
• Polished table-service standards, attention to detail, and an anticipatory service mindset.
• Professional judgment, discretion, reliability, and the ability to manage shifting priorities calmly.
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
