Description
We are currently in search for a mature, long-term, family assistant (FA) for a family of four to start ASAP. The main responsibility of the FA revolves around the care of children, ages 5 and 2 working as a team player with the parents. It's important that the FA is energetic and creates a healthy and fun relationship with the children. The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English) and is able to travel with the family both nationally and internationally with advanced notice. This can be both a live-in or live-out position. For live-in candidates the FA will have her own private room and bathroom in the family’s home in the upstairs part of the house which can be a long-term or short-term live-in if the FA finds her own housing.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- All childcare related duties
- Cooking for the children
- Teaching, tutoring & supervision of school work
- Driving family vehicle (must have a great driving record)
- Taking children to school
- Running errands
- Light housekeeping
- Scheduling the children’s activities, schoolwork, appointments etc.
- Keeping up CPR/First Aid certifications
- Family’s laundry
- Overnight care on occasion
- Travel with the family when needed
Qualifications and characteristics in the FA include the following:
- Trustworthy and able to maintain the utmost confidentiality
- Active and patient with the children
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Organized, self-starter
- Punctual and Reliable
- Proactive in household duties
- Competent and also likable, fun to be around for the whole family
- Ability to participate in family adventures/outings, meaning able to keep a very active, busy schedule and having physical endurance
- Limiting personal use of cell phone while on the job
- Childhood Education or college degree is ideal
- Open communicator
We are hoping to find a great match for this family who will be with them for many years and who can eventually transition into a household manager once the children are older and in school full time.
