Family Assistants (FA) is our most popular placement! FA’s work for families with young or school-aged children who need more than just home childcare. FA’s can act as the parent’s personal assistant and the children’s nanny. They help out the parents in managing the home by doing whatever the parents need assistance with. Some FA’s focus is solely on the children. They may drive the children to school and other activities or appointments, take the children shopping, help with homework, or travel with them. Most of our FA’s have college degrees and help the children manage their chores, school projects, and busy schedules. They have more responsibilities than a nanny and work in and outside of the family’s home.

family assistantsExamples of the diversity of duties for a Family Assistant:

  • General nanny duties
  • Personal assistant duties to the parents
  • Non-childcare related duties (except heavy housekeeping)
  • Driving the children
  • Running errands for the parents
  • Grocery shopping for the family
  • Household management duties
  • Managing Amazon orders/returns

A Family Assistant (FA) is similar to a personal assistant except that the majority (over 50%) of their responsibilities are childcare-related. In addition to childcare, a FA may help out with other household duties such as the parent’s laundry and ironing. If the parents are business owners the FA may also help with the business when the children are in school. Busy parents are able to delegate important domestic and non-domestic tasks to the FA so that they can spend more quality time with their children or focus on their work.
