Description

NYC based family is in need of a long-term, live-in Lead Executive Housekeeper and Cook (LEHC) for their homes in New York and California. The family has a 6-year old child and their main 6-story townhouse is 12k sq. ft. on the Upper East Side. The LEHC will have her own separate quarters with a private living room and kitchen in the main townhouse on a different floor from the family. Two other household staff will share the living room and kitchen only during working hours of 9am-5pm M-F. During the first 4-weeks in the summer the LEHC will have her own private studio apartment on property of the family’s Orange County home. For the second half of summer (the last 6 weeks) the LEHC will join the family in their Southampton home with a private bedroom sharing a bathroom with the child M-F but will return to the townhouse on the Upper East Side for the weekends.

The ideal LEHC will have the following qualifications and experience in a formal or semi-formal household and serve as:

  • Lead Executive Housekeeper
  • Cook/Chef
  • Laundress
  • Assistant to the family as needed
  • Travel assistant

This is a year-round live-in position that requires the LEHC’s full commitment. Unfortunately this would not be an ideal position for someone who has pets, young children or any major commitments that would not allow them to travel or live-in.

Start date is ASAP. The LEHC will work about 50-hours a week M-F 7:00am-7pm and occasional weekends. A vehicle will be provided for the LEHC to use for work related use. We are looking for LEHC’s that have worked in a similar position for 10+ years with outstanding references. The LEHC should understand how to live-in while being discrete and giving the family as much privacy as possible. She should be pleasant to be around and work well as a team with the other staff.

Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • All household cleaning (daily, deep, seasonal etc.)
  • Cooking for family
  • Driving family members as needed
  • Wardrobe and closet organization with proper care of fine linens
  • Manage and oversee housekeeper, vendors etc.
  • Pet care for 2 cats (daily litter box cleaning, feeding, vet appointments etc.)
  • Coordinate, manage and be present for household services - cleaners, appliance repairs, deliveries, contractors, etc.
  • Organize closets, storage spaces, home office
  • Assist with scheduling, vacations, travel etc.
  • Knowledgeable in flower arranging, formal table setting and service
  • Run errands as needed
  • Grocery shopping
  • Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

We are looking for energetic, loyal, hard-working housekeepers who love creating a safe and peaceful environment. Ideal candidates will learn how to take initiative, use their time wisely and learn the family’s likes and dislikes over time. The LEHC should have great communication and time management skills to make sure everyone is always on the same page but most importantly she should have a positive attitude and lead by example.
