Description

Washington based executive is in search for a long-term, live-in Household Manager/Chef (HMC) in Sammamish, which is 20-miles East of Seattle. The home is 5500 sq. ft. and the HMC will have a furnished private room and bathroom on the second level of the home with plenty of space, privacy and comfort.

Our client is looking for a tech savvy and experienced HMC with a natural outgoing personality who can run a smooth, clean and organized household. This is a year-round live-in position that requires the candidate’s full commitment. Unfortunately this would not be an ideal position for someone who has pets, young children or any major commitments that would not allow them to travel or live-in.

Start date is ASAP. The HMC will work about 50-hours a week M-F 7:30am-8pm with the flexibility to start as early as 6am or work as late as 11pm. The employee will work most weekends with a lot of down time but will have a full weekend off every month. A vehicle will be provided for the HMC to use for work related use. Ideal candidates are cultured, worldly and trilingual in English/Spanish/French, with excellent credit scores. We are looking for someone who doesn’t smoke or drink too much, who has a sharp mind with the utmost attention to detail.

Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create an up-to-date household manual for the executive’s home
  • Provide regular meal prep and cleanup
  • Wardrobe and closet organization with proper care of fine linens
  • Manage and oversee housekeepers, landscapers, vendors etc.
  • Hire train and supervise additional support staff in the home
  • Daily light housekeeping duties
  • Supervise construction projects and negotiate and approve vendors’ invoices
  • Dog sitting, walking, vet appointments and groomer appointments
  • Coordinate, manage and be present for household services - cleaners, appliance repairs, deliveries, contractors, etc.
  • Ensure all household mechanical and electrical systems are in good working order (i.e. HVAC, security system, cable, and wireless network, etc.)
  • Schedule and supervise repairs and maintenance as needed and oversee outside professionals such as electricians and plumbers in the home
  • Oversee all projects scheduled at the home and coordinate and manage subcontractors
  • Experience in managing and working with smart-home systems
  • Administrative, computer skills and basic record-keeping in QuickBooks
  • Organize closets, storage spaces, home office
  • Create an inventory list of all fine art, crystal, silver and other valuables
  • Maintain accounting for household checking, credit/debit cards and petty cash
  • Coordinate and oversee seasonal contractors - lawn, landscaping, deep cleaning
  • Manage the maintenance of all vehicles; schedule routine service and manage appointments, licensing, insurance and warranties
  • Assist with scheduling, vacations, travel etc.
  • Knowledgeable in flower arranging, formal table setting and service
  • Run errands as needed
  • Grocery shopping and cooking
  • Great guests, answer the phone and handle correspondence
  • Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
  • Event planning- coordinate and facilitate events as a team with other family members and staff
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

We are looking for energetic, hard-working professionals who love creating a safe and peaceful environment. Ideal candidates will learn how to take initiative, use their time wisely and learn the executive’s likes and dislikes over time. Some of the most important qualities are someone who the client can trust and depend on long-term. The HMC should have great communication and time management skills to make sure everyone is always on the same page.
