Description

We are working with an executive couple in Greenwich, CT who need a Live-In Household Manager who is comfortable cooking meals for up to 6 family members. The HMC will have fully furnished private living quarters and the start date is early April 2024. Candidates must have a minimum of 3+years of professional household management experience with a clean driving record and must pass a vigorous screening process with excellent references.

The HMC’s work schedule is full-time Monday-Friday with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed. The ideal candidate is well organized, smart and a great communicator. We are looking for candidates who have a strong work ethic, long-term tenure with previous families/employers and a positive attitude. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this position for many years.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create an up-to-date household manual for the estate
  • Cooking for a family of 6
  • Wardrobe and closet organization with proper care of fine linens
  • Manage and oversee housekeepers, landscapers, vendors etc.
  • Hire train and supervise additional support staff in the home
  • Daily light housekeeping duties
  • Supervise construction projects and negotiate and approve vendors’ invoices
  • Dog sitting, walking, vet appointments and groomer appointments
  • Coordinate, manage and be present for household services - cleaners, appliance repairs, deliveries, contractors, etc.
  • Ensure all household mechanical and electrical systems are in good working order (i.e. HVAC, security system, cable, and wireless network, etc.)
  • Schedule and supervise repairs and maintenance as needed and oversee outside professionals such as electricians and plumbers in the home
  • Oversee all projects scheduled at the home and coordinate and manage subcontractors
  • Experience in managing and working with smart-home systems
  • Administrative, computer skills and basic record-keeping
  • Organize closets, storage spaces, home office
  • Create an inventory list of all fine art, crystal, silver and other valuables
  • Maintain accounting for household checking, credit/debit cards and petty cash
  • Coordinate and oversee seasonal contractors - lawn, landscaping, deep cleaning
  • Manage the maintenance of all vehicles; schedule routine service and manage appointments, licensing, insurance and warranties
  • Comfortable around a Labrador
  • Must always act with discretion, tact, composure, and in ways that maintain/enhance the family’s reputations and relationships
  • CPR Certification (adult, child & infant) and or willingness to become re-certified
  • Must be able to dress appropriately and represent the family professionally
  • Assist with scheduling, vacations, travel etc.
  • Knowledgeable in flower arranging, formal table setting and service
  • Run errands as needed
  • Grocery shopping
  • Great guests, answer the phone and handle correspondence
  • Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
  • Event planning- coordinate and facilitate events as a team with other family members and staff
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
