Description
St. Louis based family is currently in search for a mature, long-term, family assistant (FA) for a family of four to start ASAP. The main responsibility of the FA revolves around the care of the couple's 4 and 5 year old children and working as a team player with the other household staff and parents. Household staff includes another nanny that the FA will split the workweek with, a chef, household manager, housekeepers and an Estate Manager. Both the nanny and the FA will work about 40-hours, 3-4 days a week so flexibility is essential. FA candidates should be flexible to be available to work 24/7, which includes weekends and holidays.
The FA will need to have a valid passport and be comfortable traveling domestically and internationally with the family. Since the FA will need the flexibility to travel she will not be able to have any pets. The family has two main homes in St. Louis (main house and country home), homes in NYC, Miami, Beaver Creek, and the Bahamas where the FA will travel regularly. Private housing will be provided for the FA separate from the family's home.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- All childcare related duties
- Teaching, tutoring & supervision of school work
- Driving (must have a great driving record)
- Overnight care
- Light housekeeping
- Scheduling the children’s activities, school work, appointments etc.
- Keeping up CPR/First Aid certifications
- Making beds daily
- Family’s ironing
Qualifications and characteristics in the FA include the following:
- Trustworthy and able to maintain the utmost confidentiality
- Knows how to grant importance to the children, without being manipulated by them
- Must be able to respond quickly in an environment of changing priorities
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Alert, Fast and sharp, with an ability to handle potential security risks swiftly
- Clean and organized
- Punctual and Reliable
- Competent and also likable, fun to be around for the whole family
- Zero tolerance for drug use of any kind (including no alcohol while with family)
- No posting to social media of any sort in regard to work or of self in family’s home(s)
- Ability to participate in family adventures/outings, meaning able to keep a very active, busy schedule and having physical endurance
- Common sense in regard to proper etiquette and ability to dress appropriately for the job
- Limiting personal use of cell phone while on the job
- Valid passport with no restriction on travel worldwide
- Bi-lingual is ideal but not required (English and Spanish)
- Childhood Education degree is ideal but not required
It's important that the FA is energetic and is comfortable around new people, cultures and places. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience or some college and be comfortable in the water and doing a lot of outdoor activities with the children. We are hoping to find a great match for this family who will be with them for many years.
