Personal Chefs

...can be far more economical than eating out or even preparing a meal yourself.

Although it may seem that personal chefs are only for the wealthy, you may be surprised to know that utilizing a personal chef can be far more economical than eating out or even preparing a meal yourself. They are quickly becoming more and more popular due to the fact that people want to eat healthier, and don’t have the skills or time to shop for, prepare, cook, and clean up after every meal. Chefs are skilled in not letting anything go to waste, and can work with most budgets and diets. They have a temperament that is flexible to last minute changes, different taste palates, and special requests.

Your next step is deciding what kind of chef to hire.

Some specialize on nutrition and special diets. They will abide by the dietary requirements and restrictions you have, and can still make something different for someone else. Many chefs also prepare weight loss meals, zone diet meals, and weight loss snacks and desserts.

For those who want a more high-end experience, we have chefs who have been trained at culinary institutes around the world with experience in some of the most prestigious restaurants. They are skilled in cooking a variety of international cuisines, and gourmet delicacies. Some also offer kitchen consulting, and catering for special events.

There are off-site chefs who deliver meals to a home, business, or party, that are ready for heating and serving. Their main responsibility is to deliver the meals on time, and willing to serve the food; however, they are not responsible for any clean up. Our on-site chefs are those who cook from your home, clean up, serve, and a variety of other things listed below.

  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Cooking meals, snacks, desserts etc…
  • Party planning
  • Catering

  • Kitchen clean-up

Average Salary

For an off-site chef, their salary ranges greatly according to their experience, promptness, number of meals and variations, distance for delivery, and other factors. Some charge an hourly rate plus gas mileage, while others charge a base fee according to the menu desired. Each chef will work within your budget and give you an estimated amount for their service. There will be a signed agreement in the initial consultation, with a cancellation policy. This policy is to ensure the chef that if there is a last minute cancellation after they have already purchased and prepared the food they will still be paid in full.

An on-site chef’s salary also greatly ranges from $15-$45 per hour depending upon what kind of chef you desire, their experience, and their duties.

Typical Hours

The typical live out hours vary from 5 hours per week, to full time hours ranging from 5-10 hours a day. Whereas a live in chef usually works longer hours, has more flexibility, and is provided with separate living quarters and a salary.
