House Sitters

When you go on vacation there is nothing more assuring than knowing your home is being well taken care of. Even if your home is in a gated community it does not guarantee that the inside of your home will be protected from some of the problems New Mexico homeowners face such as:
  • Rodent, reptile, and insect control
  • Frozen pipes in the winter than can break or leak if not being used
  • Dust and cobweb build up
  • Flat roof leaks during monsoon season
  • Yard and houseplant upkeep
Being able to completely enjoy a vacation or relax during an extended business trip allows you the peace of mind in knowing your home is safe, and well taken care of. If your home in New Mexico is not your primary residency we offer long term house care within your budget preference or even FREE! To have someone care for your home for free it must be a long term position, and the homeowner must pay for all utilities and allow the sitter to stay for a minimum of 6 months.

Some of the typical duties for a house sitter include the following:
  • Watering plants
  • Feeding animals
  • Bringing in the mail and paper
  • Taking phone messages
  • Setting alarm
Some additional services a house sitter may offer include:
  • Taking to airport
  • Picking up from airport
  • Running errands
  • Light housekeeping
Average Salary
Most house sitters make $25-$100+ dollars per day, depending upon the location, the hours required at the home, and the duties. As with every service, the Deborah Calkin Agency will work within budget preferences.

Typical Hours
Some house sitters are just asked to sleep over, while others are asked to be around at certain hours during the day; however, most are asked to live in the home while the owners are away according to their schedule.
